UPCOMING WORKSHOPS

Nutrition for Runners
Saturday June 10th at 10:30am – 11:30am
This workshop will start with a dynamic warm-up and run.
During the cool down our Nutritionist Brittany Gordon will be talking about Nutrition for Runners.
This nutrition talk is meant to introduce runners to balanced and simple nutrition. The topics are meant to help participants fuel their body’s in a way that allows them to feel their best during their run, and recover quickly to get ready for life, and their next run.
During this talk we will cover topics such as:
– Pre-run fuel to get your energy up and keep it up throughout your whole run;
– Post-run refuels to stave off muscle soreness and avoid the dread “always starving” feeling that often comes with an increase in exercise.
Participants will also be provided with some recipe cards specific to the sport of running and maybe even a treat or two.

Body Composition Scans
Thursday June 1st 6:00pm – 8:30pm
Saturday June 10th at 8:30am – 11:00am
Many of us are well acquainted with the traditional scale. The one that tells you how much gravity is pulling down on your body at any given moment of the day. What these scales don’t take into account are how hydrated you are (yes, drinking a lot of water will make the scale shift up!), how much muscle you have built this past month, what your overall body fat percentage is, your basal metabolic rate or your visceral fat (this is the scary stuff that surrounds our organs)
What body composition testing allows us to do is to get a better picture of what is going on. Instead of just looking at weight we are given the opportunity to look at:
– your metabolic age,
– how hydrated you are,
– how your body is managing stress, and;
– how much muscle your body is managing.
As a Nutritionist I find this tool helpful in assisting individuals at shifting away from the scale and becoming more focused on actual health indicators, like HYDRATION! Many are surprised at just how much muscle they have on their body and how stress is affecting their bodies.
June 1st – 6:00pm – 8:30pm
June 10th – 8:30am – 11:00am
Sign up for a quick 20 minute body comp and discussion, our Nutritionist will help you out with some tips to move forward and continue working on your health.
