Bailey, welcome to the LYB team! Let’s start with a few questions.
How did your fitness journey begin?
My fitness journey has really been the majority of my life. I was fortunate to have very active parents and as a baby was always sitting at their sporting events or watching my dad coach at the University. The early introduction to sports had me trying any sport I could by the time I was four and to start looking to compete at higher levels in multiple sports by 10 years old. I was determined to play post secondary basketball and that kick started me into weightlifting and training with more purpose. With that I had a teacher in high school that taught a Strength and Conditioning option for gym credit and after that I really knew that fitness was going to be more to me than sport performance.
Why do you love being a part of LYBF?
I am new to the community and already feel so welcomed! That is the best part of a gym; being in a place that makes everyone feel welcomed and valued. It is such a wonderful thing to be a part of and to help grow. I fully believe that all bodies are capable of so many great things and LYBF is an amazing place to showcase all that people can accomplish.
Any advice for new clients?
Starting a fitness journey, whether brand spanking or starting from a new point in life, has so many things that go along with it. And so much advice that can help you on that path. My first tattoo is a phrase that has changed my life and it’s my biggest advice to anyone on their fitness journey: “I Can.” Our mindset has such an impact on us. “I Can” isn’t just the big things in life. Sometimes it’s “I can show up today”; “I can do what my body allows me”. It’s the opportunity to put your fears to the side and believe in yourself. It is the opportunity to remind yourself that you are capable and you can do it.
